Most art school deadlines for 2027 entry fall between October 2026 and January 2027, across very different systems. Oxford goes first, in mid-October. US early rounds follow in November and December. Then almost everything else lands in the first three weeks of January, led by the UCAS deadline on 13 January.
This timeline puts the 2027 art school deadlines for the UK, US and Europe in one place, month by month. Every date was checked against the school’s own website or UCAS on 4 October 2026. Schools do change their dates, so confirm yours on the official page before you plan around it.
October and November 2026
- 15 October, 18:00 UK time: UCAS deadline for Oxford, which includes the Ruskin School of Art BFA.
- 1 November: RISD Early Decision, and Parsons Early Action and Early Decision.
- 5 November: the Ruskin BFA portfolio is due on SlideRoom.
- 15 November: Pratt Early Action and SAIC Early Action.
- 16 November: MICA Early Action.
Early Decision is binding: if you’re accepted, you commit to that school. Early Action isn’t binding.
December 2026
- 1 December: CalArts‘ preferred deadline, for both the BFA and the MFA.
- 1 December: Cooper Union Early Decision. The Home Test follows on 5 January.
- 1 December: SVA’s non-binding Early Action. SVA admits on a rolling basis after that. Apply early for scholarships.
January 2027: the biggest month for art school deadlines
- 5 January: graduate deadlines at RISD, Parsons and Pratt (Pratt’s is a priority deadline), CalArts’ regular deadline, Cooper Union’s regular deadline and its Home Test for Early Decision applicants, and the Ruskin MFA at midday.
- 8 January, noon: Royal College of Art, Round 1.
- Around 9 January: UCLA MFA. Check the current UCLA application for the confirmed date.
- 10 January: Yale School of Art MFA.
- 13 January, 18:00 UK time: the UCAS deadline for most undergraduate courses, including the BA at the Slade, Central Saint Martins and the other UAL colleges, Goldsmiths and Glasgow School of Art.
- 15 January: Parsons Regular Decision, Pratt Priority Decision, and SAIC’s deadline for merit scholarships.
- Around 19 January: MICA’s first graduate round.
- 20 January: RISD Regular Decision, the Columbia MFA, and Glasgow School of Art’s Digital Portfolio, due by 13:00 UK time.
February 2027: later art school deadlines
- 1 February: MICA Regular Decision.
- 9 February: the Cooper Union Home Test for regular applicants.
- Mid-February: the Goldsmiths BA portfolio upload.
- UAL Foundation Diploma: applications for 2027/28 open in autumn 2026, and UAL hasn’t published the 2027 deadline yet. For 2026 entry, the equal-consideration deadline was 25 February 2026 at 1pm UK time.
- UdK Berlin: last year’s application window ran from 5 February to 5 March. Check UdK’s site for the 2027 dates.
March to June 2027
- Around 19 March: MICA’s second graduate round.
- 23 March: Royal College of Art, Round 2.
- 15 April: SAIC’s rolling admission closes.
- 2 June: Royal College of Art, Round 3.
- 30 June, 18:00 UK time: the final UCAS deadline. Applications after that go into Clearing, which opens on 2 July.
Later rounds are real options, but they depend on places still being available. If you can, aim for the first deadline your school offers.
Working back from your first deadline
Your earliest deadline sets your whole schedule. Count back from it: the portfolio has to be finished, edited and photographed well before the day, with time left for feedback and a final round of changes. If your first deadline is Oxford, or an early round at RISD or Parsons, that means starting now.
If you’d like an expert eye on your work before then, a 90-minute portfolio review shows you the highest-priority changes to make before you submit.
