Your Portfolio Reviewer
Your review will be led by India, a practising artist and experienced art-school educator trained at Central Saint Martins, the Slade School of Fine Art and the Royal College of Art.
India previously taught as an Associate Lecturer in Fine Art at UAL, where she interviewed and assessed prospective Fine Art applicants and assessed undergraduate studio work. She has also worked with students and artists at Goldsmiths, the Royal College of Art and Turps Art School.
Alongside teaching, India maintains an internationally exhibiting art practice and was selected for the John Moores Painting Prize 2025 at the Walker Art Gallery.
This means your portfolio is considered from both perspectives: as a body of contemporary art and as an application being viewed by an admissions panel. The aim is not to reshape your work into a formula, but to identify what is strongest in your existing practice and give you clear, honest direction on what to keep, what to develop and what to prioritise before applying.

“I worked with my tutor while preparing my portfolio for UK art school applications, including University of Edinburgh and UAL.
The feedback helped me clarify the direction of my work, identify which projects needed further development, and present my portfolio much more clearly for submission and interviews.
I received offers from Edinburgh, UAL and Glasgow, and I’d definitely recommend this support to students applying to competitive art and design courses.”

Goldsmiths
“The support was extremely helpful in preparing my BA Fine Art portfolio and interview. My tutor looked at my work very carefully and helped me choose the strongest pieces for my portfolio, while also showing me how to explain the hidden ideas and layers behind my paintings more clearly.
The guidance made me feel much more confident in presenting my practice at interview, and helped me communicate the essence of my work properly. I was very happy to receive a place on BA Fine Art at Goldsmiths.”

The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL
“My tutor was extremely helpful during my university application process, specifically regarding my personal statement and art portfolio.
I received structured guidance on brainstorming new artworks and practical advice on how to tailor my portfolio to meet the requirements of my chosen course. The support demonstrated a thorough understanding of the admissions process and was clear and professional throughout.
I got into all the courses that I applied for, and I will be heading to UCL to pursue Art and Technology.”

UAL Foundation
“Working with my tutor gave me the confidence to actually submit my application rather than endlessly questioning it.
The tools and ways of thinking I learned continued to be useful beyond that moment. The following year, I applied many of the same approaches when applying to the Turps Studio Programme, which was also successful.
With this support I was accepted onto the UAL Foundation course, which became the starting point for my transition into fine art practice.”
