From a Weak Portfolio to Being Accepted at Central Saint Martins
Portfolio & Admissions Mentorship
Yuxin came to Cadmium while she was studying for her BTEC in London. Her first choice was Central Saint Martins, but her portfolio was weak, with no cohesion between the pieces. This is the story of how she built the portfolio that Central Saint Martins accepted.
She joined our Portfolio & Admissions Mentorship, and we worked together for about ten months. We helped her clarify her thinking so her ideas connected. Then we shaped the work into a portfolio with one clear direction. We also guided her through every stage of her applications.
As a result, Yuxin received five offers to study BA Fine Art:
- Central Saint Martins
- Chelsea College of Arts (unconditional)
- Kingston University (unconditional)
- University of Brighton (unconditional)
- Camberwell College of Arts (conditional)
She was also accepted onto UAL Foundation.
She then accepted her first choice, BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, where she is now studying.

“India provided helpful guidance and support throughout my daughter’s art application process. She helped her develop ideas more clearly, strengthen the presentation of her work, and better understand the direction required for university applications. Her feedback was structured and encouraging. We appreciated the time and support she gave throughout the application journey.”
